Step 01.A 1:1 EZ Site Visit

An initial 10-minute Zoom video or phone consultation with a Tiny Mansion PM (Project Manager) will set the right expectations and answer most of your questions. Once you verify the project is possible (if you are in a Home Owners Association, for example), and are interested in moving to the next step, a 1:1 EZ Site Visit is scheduled.

A licensed Tiny Mansions Network Contractor will visit you to determine the necessary concrete slab, connections setup and craning services (if applicable) that will be required to comply with your city’s MTH ordinance, and which Tiny Mansions’ model best works for your site. If you already have a CA Licensed Contractor, our Tiny Mansions Project Manager will communicate with them to appear at the 1:1 Site Visit.


Your 1:1 EZ Site Visit Permitted Checklist will include:

  • Existing and proposed utilities
  • Location of the best Tiny Mansions structure on your lot
  • Build-site pics with underground utility location markings
  • Estimate of Scope of Work outside of the Tiny Mansions deliverable structure (Site work, concrete slab, deck, crane contractors, etc.)
  • Contractor Payment Arrangement Between Customer And Contractor Directly For Ez 1:1 Site Visit

Step 02.Tiny Mansion Purchase

Purchase your Tiny Mansion. Wire information for cash purchases or financing options are available HERE. Your Tiny Mansions Project Manager will work with our architectural and structural engineering teams to produce the site plan for your unique Permit documents according to your local city’s criteria.

You will need to submit it to your local Building Department and pay the local fees as Permit Fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Step 03.Simple Plans Submittal / Permit Issued [2-8+ weeks]

Plan Check is the review of plans, specs and documents submitted to your local Building Department. Their plan review time can vary greatly, from 2 to 8 weeks or even longer, so engagement with them early on in the project is greatly recommended.

Your Tiny Mansions Project Manager is available to address any concerns from the Building Department should they arise after they review the plans.


Once you have secured the Permit, we will need from you:

  • The Permit Card and any related documents from your local Building Department
  • Site access
  • Written verification of HOA approval, if necessary
  • Clear access for delivery

Your Tiny Mansions Project Manager schedules the site work with the Contractor according to your desired timeline to get your site ready for the delivery of your new Tiny Mansion.

Step 04.Quick Site Work “Curing & Connections” [5 weeks]

Your plumbing and electrical connections are being worked on and the slab concrete will be poured according to the approved plans.

It will take your slab concrete about 4 weeks to cure.

Step 05.Fast Delivery, Installation & Final walkthrough [1 week]

Your site is now fully prepared. Your new Tiny Mansions structure arrives within 3 days. After an initial delivery inspection, you sign off on the delivery.

The Contractor may have a Crane Contractor if needed, to hoist and install your structure onto the job site.

Then comes the electrical and plumbing connections, and the building of the desired deck, if so chosen. Finally, the on-site final walkthrough takes place, your city’s Certificate of Occupancy and you sign off on a successful final project completion.
